B. Draddy has its obvious meaning, that of a name. From its inception though, it has had an additional meaning. The B” stood for Brothers.... Brothers Draddy. Brotherhood, if not the strongest relationship one can experience in life, is a close second. You are a rival, a protector, a confidante. Above all you are joined by the bond of family, a commitment that can not be discarded or forgotten. This relationship has had an immense impact on me and has provided support for me through out my life.

My initial experience with brotherhood came from my Grandfather’s three brothers. My paternal grandfather passed when my father was young and before I got to meet him. His three brothers, for the balance of their lives all served as fathers to my own father, taking him through life as if he was their own. The same was done to myself and my siblings when we came along. The dedication to their brother, and the responsibility that they assumed over his family was selfless and exhibited the true bond of brotherhood. My own brother has been a spine of support that has provided friendship, guidance and stability, consistently, for a lifetime. It’s a shadow of confidence that follows me without interruption. As my four sons move further into this world I witness a similar bond that has formed in a fraction of the years. A bond that leaves them with the desire to all pile in the same bedroom and live with one another. A bond that inspires my third son to go after another boy twice his age because he has dumped dirt on his older brother’s head. A bond that has them already, even in childhood, dedicated to one another without question.
